About Us
Who We Are
Zero Abuse Project (Zero Abuse) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending all forms of child abuse and maltreatment. Started in 2018, our mission is to provide training, education, and resources to professionals working on the front lines of child protection and abuse prevention, including attorneys, law enforcement, child advocacy professionals, and social workers. Through cutting-edge programs and initiatives, we empower these professionals to intervene effectively, seek justice for survivors, and prevent abuse before it occurs.
Our Mission
At Zero Abuse Project, we believe in a world where every child is safe from harm. Our work focuses on equipping professionals and communities with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to prevent child abuse, support survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable. We are committed to a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes the well-being and recovery of children and families affected by abuse.
Our Programs
We run several critical programs that directly impact the fight against child abuse:
- Trauma-Informed Prosecutor Project (TiPP): Provides specialized training to prosecutors and child protection attorneys to enhance their ability to seek justice for victims of child abuse while minimizing further trauma.
- Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Training & Technology Program: Offers advanced training and resources to law enforcement officers and prosecutors dealing with internet-facilitated crimes against children, including child exploitation, online grooming, and human trafficking.
- Child Advocacy Studies (CAST): An academic program designed to train students and professionals in the best practices for responding to cases of child abuse and neglect, emphasizing a multi-disciplinary and trauma-informed approach.
- SurvivorSpace: An online resource hub created for survivors of child sexual abuse. SurvivorSpace provides essential information, support, and guidance for survivors seeking justice and healing.
- ChildFirst Forensic Interviewing Program: Trains child protection professionals to conduct trauma-informed forensic interviews with children who are victims of abuse, ensuring that their voices are heard in legal proceedings while minimizing re-traumatization.
- Jacob Wetterling Resource Center (JWRC): Focused on child safety education and child abduction prevention, the JWRC works to promote community awareness and protection strategies to keep children safe.
- Center for Faith and Child Protection: This initiative equips faith leaders and communities with the tools, knowledge, and strategies to prevent child abuse within faith-based organizations. The Center works to foster safer religious environments where children are protected and supported.
- 1in6: In partnership with the organization 1in6, we offer online support and resources for male survivors of sexual abuse and assault. This includes anonymous online chat groups moderated by professionals, providing a safe and supportive space for healing and recovery.
Why We Launched the Zero Abuse Project Store
The Zero Abuse Project Store was created to offer our supporters, professionals, and partners a way to proudly display their commitment to ending child abuse. By purchasing and wearing Zero Abuse branded gear, you not only help raise awareness but also support our ongoing work in protecting children. Every purchase from the store directly contributes to our programs, helping us reach more professionals, assist more survivors, and create safer communities.
Our store offers a wide range of products, including apparel, accessories, and office items featuring the Zero Abuse logo as well as logos from our key programs such as TiPP, ICAC, CAST, SurvivorSpace, ChildFirst, Center for Faith and Child Protection, and 1in6. Each product is made on-demand and reflects our values of quality, sustainability, and impact.
What Makes Us Different
- Purpose-Driven: Unlike many online stores, 100% of the proceeds from our products go directly toward funding programs that help end child abuse and support survivors.
- Trauma-Informed Approach: Our entire organization, including our store, operates with a trauma-informed perspective, ensuring that everything we do prioritizes the safety, dignity, and well-being of those affected by child abuse.
- Support for Professionals: We don’t just create merchandise. We create a movement. Our gear is worn by professionals and advocates on the front lines of child protection, symbolizing their commitment to fighting for justice and child safety.
